Overview
I am a professor, researcher, and academic leader in the field of engineering, with a professional trajectory focused on talent development, educational innovation, and the generation of technological solutions with social impact. I currently serve as Associate Department Director at the Tecnológico de Monterrey, Toluca campus, where I lead academic planning, laboratory development, industry engagement, and the implementation of innovative educational strategies within engineering programs.
My academic background includes a Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Administration and a Master s degree in Automation from the Tecnológico de Monterrey. I later earned a Ph.D. in Automation, Robotics, and Computer Vision from the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña in Barcelona, where I participated in research projects funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation. I also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México, focusing on the development of fault-tolerant control strategies applied to unmanned aerial vehicles.
Throughout my career, I have promoted educational innovation projects based on active learning methodologies such as Challenge-Based Learning, as well as the integration of emerging technologies including artificial intelligence, simulation, additive manufacturing, and virtual laboratories, with the aim of enhancing meaningful learning in engineering students.
My research interests include automatic control, robotics, dynamic systems, and the application of digital technologies in engineering education. I am also involved in the development of academic and research initiatives aimed at strengthening foundational science education, critical thinking, and students ability to solve complex problems.
My professional commitment is centered on contributing to the development of engineers with a global perspective, strong innovation capabilities, and social responsibility, while generating knowledge that positively impacts academic, industrial, and societal environments.
