Zárate-García, J Asunción

Overview

J. Asunción Zárate García was born in Tierra Nueva, San Luis Potosí, México on October 19, 1965. He is the second son of a family of five brothers and three sisters. He obtained his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and Management from Tecnológico de Monterrey in December, 1987. He was granted a Future Professor Scholarship to pursue a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering by Tecnologico de Monterrey in August, 1987. In August 1994. he was awarded with the Fulbright-CONACyT Scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Arizona State University. At Tecnológico de Monterrey campus Monterrey, he has been a full time instructor in the Thermosciences Department from June, 1989 to July, 1994; research professor at the Solar Energy Research Center and academic adviser of the Masters Degree Program in Energy Engineering. He was dean and founder of the School of Engineering at Tecnológico de Monterrey campus Puebla. Currently, he is the Dean of the School of Design, Engineering and Architecture. He is the author and coauthor of several technical papers that have been published in international Journals. He is a member of the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers, and the American Society for Mechanical Engineers.
