Biomedical Engineer (IPN Mexico, 2001), master's degree and doctorate in science with a specialty in Automatic Control (CINVESTAV México, 2006 & 2010). He is a research professor (associate) at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, Tecnológico de Monterrey, an institution where he has worked for thirteen years as part of the faculty of the bachelor's degree in Biosciences, Biomedical Engineering, and the postgraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences. He currently coordinates the research group on Diagnostic and Therapeutic Innovation in chronic degenerative diseases. He is a fellow of the National System of Researchers of Mexico, level I (member by 11 years). He has more than 25 papers published in indexed journals, eight chapters in books, five national and international patent applications, four patents granted in Mexico, one in the United States of America, and two copyrights on medical software. As a technical mentor, Dr. Garcia-Gonzalez belongs to the board of several technology-based startups, being part of three scientific-technological-based entrepreneurship projects (microBioMe, INNERT, and Muscle Tracker). Dr. Garcia has participated in several entrepreneurship training programs and boot camps, such as the GEN Israel Tech Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Tel-Aviv, Israel, De la Ciencia al Mercado, Jalisco, Mexico, and the Health Pioneers TEC Salud Bootcamp. He is a member of the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society EMBS and the Automatic Control Society from IEEE. Its lines of research and innovation focus on the development of automatic control, bioinstrumentation, and applied data science and artificial intelligence in Bioengineering and Translational Medicine. Dr. Garcia is a co-founder of SmartTec BioHealth, a company dedicated to developing disruptive technological solutions for human health, and with the project INNERT, he is part of the winning team of the innovation, science, and technology award of the State of Jalisco 2023 in the innovation category.
