Biomedical Engineer with a Master's and Ph.D. in Science specializing in Automatic Control (2006 & 2010). He is an Associate Research Professor in Medicine and Health Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey, an institution where he has worked for 15 years. He currently coordinates the Biomarkers and Advanced Therapies research group and belongs to Mexico's National System of Researchers (SNI), Level I. His academic output includes over 30 articles published in indexed journals, eight book chapters, five national and international patent applications, four granted patents in Mexico, one in the United States, and two copyrights for medical software.As a technical mentor, he serves on the board of several startups and is involved in two science and technology-based entrepreneurship projects (InsideBio and INNERT). He has participated in various training programs and entrepreneurship bootcamps, such as the GEN Israel Tech Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Tel-Aviv, Israel, and De la Ciencia al Mercado (From Science to Market) in SICYT Jalisco, Mexico.
He is a member of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS). His research and innovation lines focus on the development of automatic control, bioinstrumentation, applied data science, and artificial intelligence in Bioengineering and Translational Medicine.
Dr. García is a co-founder of SmartTec BioHealth, a company dedicated to developing disruptive technological solutions for human health. Furthermore, with the INNERT project, he is part of the winning team of the Jalisco State Innovation, Science, and Technology Award 2023 in the innovation category
