Barrios-Piña, Héctor Alfonso

Overview

Associate professor at Tecnologico de Monterrey in Guadalajara and member of the focus group "Water Science and Technology" and "Social Transformation and Sustainability", of the Schools of Engineering and Science and Education, Humanities and Social Sciences respectively. National Researcher Level 1 of CONACYT Mexico. Civil Engineer graduated from the School of Engineering and Architecture Zacatenco of Instituto Politecnico Nacional and Master of Science in Hydraulics (ports and coasts) by the same institution and Ph.D. in Numerical Modeling and Fluid Mechanics from the University of Aix Marseille, France.
I am faculty member of the Ph.D. Program of Engineering Sciences at Tecnologico de Monterrey, member of the Water Center at Tecnologico de Monterrey, member of the Water Academic Council and member of the Water Advisory Council in Jalisco.
I have published scientific research articles in international journals and in book chapters on topics related to the analysis of fluid flows with numerical modeling. In 2011, I did a postdoctoral stay at the Mexican Petroleum Institute funded by a CONACYT grant, where I conducted research applied to the oil industry specifically in the analysis of the Gulf of Mexico currents. I have participated in several national and international conferences, among which the French Congress of Mechanics, the Latin American Congress of Hydraulics, the Congress of the International Water Association, the National Congress of Hydraulics and the Congress of the Fluid Dynamics Division stand out.
