Dr. Nolazco gets a BSc in Electronic System, and a MSc in Control Engineering from ITESM, campus Monterrey; and a M.Phil. y Ph.D. from the University de Cambridge, England.
Dr. Nolazco is associate Dean of the Engineering and Information Technology School, at the ITESM, Mexico, where he leads 90 faculty members and he serves around 6,000 students each term. The area of Computer Science and Information Technology is ranked in the range 151-200 in the QS ranking in 2014; in the same range are other important Universities such as University of Bristol, England, University of Dresden, Germany, etc.
Dr. Nolazco has been invited as research scholar at Marburg University and Mannheim University, Germany; Carnegie Mellon University, USA; Zaragoza University, Spain; and Cambridge University, England. Dr. Nolazco has published more than 40 papers, with more than 200 cites (81 cites in Scopus). Dr. Nolazco has been invited to review papers in "IEEE Transaction on Speech Recognition", "Speech Communications", "Computación y Sistemas" and "Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement and Control". Dr. Nolazco has been invited as Program Committee member in international conferences, such as: Ibero-American Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IBERAMiA); International Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics (ICINCO), etc. Dr. Nolazco is "IEEE Senior Member", member of the Mexican Academy of Science, and member of the Mexican Academy of Engineering. Dr. Nolazco has been member of the National Research Mexican System, 2006-2012. Dr. Nolazco was awarded two times with the ITESM Teaching and Research award, 2005 y 2009.
Dr. Nolazco has attracted financial resources for more than $1,200,000.00 USD in the last ten years, from companies such as Google, NIC México, ASU-ITESM, METALSA, RENAPO, CEMEX and CONACyT.
